Cassi Meitl, AICP, PMP

Cassi Meitl, AICP, PMP is a certified urban planner and project manager with expertise in community, economic, and real estate development. Her knowledge of zoning and policy, master and neighborhood planning, site selection and planning due diligence, entitlements and approvals, and community engagement guides projects through completion. Cassi has been working with communities in Michigan, both in the public and private sectors, since 2014, and she started the community planning division at Spalding DeDecker. As Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Cassi is now executing high-impact projects that advance the firm’s strategic and operational goals, and managing initiatives that drive growth, improve internal processes, and strengthen collaboration across departments.

Cassi earned her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning with a graduate certificate in community engagement at Michigan State University (MSU) and her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a Minor in Business Administration at Illinois State University.

When not working, Cassi is spending family time with her husband and daughters. She also enjoys traveling, road cycling, hiking, baking, beer brewing, and restoring her historic home in Detroit. She’s serves on the Board of Directors for the Historic Boston-Edison Association in Detroit and Advisory Board for the Urban and Regional Planning Program at MSU.
