A certified planner (AICP) with both public and private sector experience, Kayla Mauldin, AICP brings a dynamic blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and energetic passion to planning projects. Kayla’s expertise spans master planning, policy and ordinance writing, grant writing, transportation and corridor studies, and community engagement. She has led and contributed to award-winning projects such as the Kearns General Plan and Resilience + Infrastructure Element (2020) and the We Are Stockton General Plan (2019), both recognized by the Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association.
In addition, Kayla has presented on a range of topics from parking studies (Not Your Grandpa’s Parking Study – 2025 Michigan Association of Planning Conference) to housing (How to Talk to Your Community About Housing – 2025 Macomb County Housing Summit). Kayla’s approach to planning emphasizes transparency, inclusive and passionate engagement, and evidence-based solutions. With experience in Michigan and Utah, she brings a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of planning that integrates policy, design, and implementation – and that continues to shape communities both near and far.
