Frequently Asked Questions
Will mail delivery be affected?
Mail service will continue during the project, with minimal delays and minor disruptions.
Will trash pick-up be affected?
Minimal disruption may occur to disposal services.
Will sprinklers and/or Landscape Items be affected?
Regarding, Tienken Manor and Long Meadows Subdivision, sprinklers within the construction influence areas are generally impacted within an area of 3 feet from edge of pavement in open ditched areas. In areas that have curb and gutter, there will be some selective curb and gutter repairs that will be marked for removal with fluorescent pink paint. Several culverts under the roadway, not driveways, will be replaced and marked for removal on the surface of the pavement with fluorescent pink paint and may affect an area about 10 foot into the greenbelt area. If you have sprinkler lines and/or heads adjacent to the construction influence area, we ask that you place an identification marker, i.e. flag or stack, near the line/head to assist the contractor in identifying its location to avoid them when feasible. The contractor will replace damaged sprinklers that have been marked.
Regarding, East Hampton Subdivision, in most areas, the existing curb and gutter will remain so the new pavement or project limits will be from the face of curb to the face of curb only. In this case, existing sprinkler locations won’t need to be marked. However, there will be some selective curb and gutter repairs marked for removal with fluorescent pink paint, as well as sidewalk removals at street intersections. If you have sprinkler lines and/or heads adjacent to the construction influence or 3 feet behind the back of curb, we ask that you place an identification marker, i.e., flag or stake, near the sprinkler line/head to assist the contractor in identifying its location to avoid them when feasible. The contractor will replace damaged sprinklers that have been marked.
For all projects, rocks and other landscaping items will need to be located outside of the designated work zone, prior to work commencing. Per ordinance, rocks located within the public right-of-way must be less than 30 inches in diameter and at least 3 feet off the back of the curb & gutter or edge of the roadway in open ditch areas.
Are Road Closures Anticipated?
The intent is to have one lane of traffic open at all times, there may be certain operations that require the temporary closure of the roadway. The Rochester Hills Fire Department will be notified of any such closures and the contractor will have the road open to a minimum of one lane of traffic by the end of the workday. Please exercise caution near work sites and avoid them completely if possible.
