Mike F.H. DeDecker, PS

Vice President | Senior Survey Project Manager

Mike is a Senior Project Manager at Spalding DeDecker, where he oversees a full spectrum of surveying projects. His focus is on construction and design surveys for MDOT, airport surveying, and heavy civil/industrial projects. For the industrial surveying Mike and his team perform anchor bolt surveys, stamping press precision surveying, structural steel surveys, and crane rail surveys.

Being with the company for more than 25 years, Mike certainly knows the ins and outs of the company. When asked what his favorite thing about working for Spalding DeDecker was, he stated, “I enjoy the variety and complexity of the work.” Since Mike started full-time in 1994, Spalding DeDecker has been involved in several of the largest projects in the State of Michigan and, in some cases, the country. Because of the immensity of these projects, he is constantly challenged and pushed to never stop learning – something he very much enjoys. Everyone at Spalding DeDecker is eager and enthusiastic about tackling even the toughest projects.

Mike attended Ferris State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Surveying Engineering. He is a licensed professional surveyor in Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Minnesota, Kentucky, and North Dakota. He also passed the Engineer In Training (EIT) exam and has completed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) IDLE training in specifications AC-16, 17, and 18 for airport GIS surveying- two very impressive accomplishments.

When away from work, Mike enjoys hunting, woodworking, lifting weights, and family activities with his wife and two children.
