Paving begins the week of Aug. 12

The concrete curb and gutter were placed along the majority of the south and west side of the road last week. The crew will start preparations for paving on Monday and Tuesday and begin paving on Wednesday.
SPECIAL NOTE: the contractor will be grading the stone that is currently being used to provide a wider drive width. This means that 2-way traffic will have to be maintained on the pavement portion from the centerline to the curb. Please use caution while driving through the narrower work zone.
The week of August 19th the contractor will be switching sides and begin to remove the pavement on the north and east side of Star-Batt.

In the last week we have had several close calls with our construction crew. We understand that this is a commercial street and you need access for larger vehicles and trucks. Pro-Line Asphalt’s crew has made an extra effort to quickly back fill driveways and place the stone in a way that provides a wider driving path to minimize the impact on your businesses during construction. Please be aware of the road crews as you drive through the construction area and ask your delivery drivers to do the same. Our goal is to have everyone arrive home safely each night..

Star-Batt Concrete work to begin 8/5

Pro-Line completed the edge drain and placed the aggregate base for the road. On Monday 8/5 the concrete curb and gutter will be placed on the south and west side (click on the map for details). All but two driveways will be closed for one week while the concrete cures. The contractor has placed stone along the center edge of the road so that there will be enough room for the concrete trucks to park and traffic to get by on the pavement on the north and east side of the road.

Construction begins in two weeks!
The City of Rochester Hills will be doing a full reconstruction of Star-Batt Road this summer. A full reconstruction means replacing the roadway, curb and gutters, and driveways. This will significantly impact businesses on the road and affect drive times, deliveries, and trash collection. During this construction Star-Batt will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project. Two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers to control traffic. We recommend that you notify your delivery and trash collection companies regarding the project for potential delays Also note that mailboxes may be relocated on a temporary basis due to construction. To minimize interruptions to your business we are asking for your help with the following items:- If possible please schedule trash pickup or large shipments/deliveries before 7AM or after 5PM
- Let us know which drives (if any) can be closed entirely
- Provide us with times/schedules for any events or functions that need special consideration
- Let us know if you have numerous parcel pickups/deliveries daily
- Anything important!
